My new Etsy shop, Handmade Yummies, is up and running. There is a limited amount of stuff in my shop at the moment, but that will change in the coming days. I am really excited about this little online venture, and I hope you will check it out! I will have everything from weavings and yarn to prints and handmade books going in there. BUY MY SHIT. thanks.
I have been hearing a lot about Patti Smith’s novel Just Kids, and am now officially convinced that I must buy it, thanks to the Free People blog entry, just kids – part one. I always love the photos they have on their entries as well. And the quotes picked out are great.
So although I have yet to read this book, I have always been a big reader and collector of quotes. Every book I read seems to be covered in dog ears, underlines and highlighter. I will even buy books that I have already read through lending and libraries in order to massacre them in this way. My notebooks always have random quotes scrawled in the edges and over images. When I was a hostess at Vinnie Van Go-Go’s in Savannah, I would write them down on a waitress pad, and now have an endless pile of waitress pages filled with excerpts of whatever I was reading at the time. Anyway, this is me saying that I must find a way to reuse these words that obviously meant something to me when I jotted them down. Savannah is such an inspiring place, but I kind of can’t wait to get back to my studio in Brooklyn, and make all these ideas a reality.
Maybe, some kind of quote a day project? Let me know if you have any ideas for how I can utilize this collection of mine.
So as I am embarking on this journey into the virtual world, and trying to build a presence with my work in general, I thought it would be a good idea to start with work that I already have up my sleevies. Heres a glimpse of some of the goodies I will have up on my Etsy, and just up for sale in general once everything is going going going..which will be very soon.
