I put some of my handmade books in my Etsy Shop, and I really just wanna keep filling and filling it up! I remembered that my dad had this little mini tripod, and that my mom has an excellent cannon digital camera. So I took those two things, set up a little makeshift photo studio with the sun pouring through my window and took some yummy pictures. Heres how some of them came out :
stumbled upon the website of Alyssa Nassner and fell in love. She is a super talented illustrator and pattern designer, and I found myself getting lost in her body of work. Its cute and clean lined, and pleasing on the eyeballs. I loved these craft inspired illustrations..
As I said earlier, she is also an extremely talented pattern designer, and there are a lot of great images on her site, but i fell in love with these stationary/paper good designs. The row of houses reminds me of Brooklyn, and the colors she uses in general are pure eye candy.
I have been hearing a lot about Patti Smith’s novel Just Kids, and am now officially convinced that I must buy it, thanks to the Free People blog entry, just kids – part one. I always love the photos they have on their entries as well. And the quotes picked out are great.
So although I have yet to read this book, I have always been a big reader and collector of quotes. Every book I read seems to be covered in dog ears, underlines and highlighter. I will even buy books that I have already read through lending and libraries in order to massacre them in this way. My notebooks always have random quotes scrawled in the edges and over images. When I was a hostess at Vinnie Van Go-Go’s in Savannah, I would write them down on a waitress pad, and now have an endless pile of waitress pages filled with excerpts of whatever I was reading at the time. Anyway, this is me saying that I must find a way to reuse these words that obviously meant something to me when I jotted them down. Savannah is such an inspiring place, but I kind of can’t wait to get back to my studio in Brooklyn, and make all these ideas a reality.
Maybe, some kind of quote a day project? Let me know if you have any ideas for how I can utilize this collection of mine.
